Virtual reality experience: Tunnel of the Feathered Serpent, Teotihuacán

The Ministry of Culture, through the Digital Strategy of Culture, and the National Institute of Anthropology and History, with the support of Samsung Electronics Mexico, have made the Virtual reality experience: Tunnel of the Feathered Serpent, Teotihuacán, project that achieves with the latest technology in virtual reality, recreate the experience of visiting one of the most important finds in the Archaeological Site of Teotihuacán.

The Temple of the Feathered Serpent, located in the Ciudadela Square in the Archaeological Site of Teotihuacán, is one of the most relevant structures of the site, along with the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. In there were found a lot of offerings, and human sacrifices which show the existence of rituals and ceremonies to ensure the continuity of the world.

In 2003, archaeologist Gómez Chávez, from INAH, discovered the entrance to a tunnel 14 meters deep and just over 100 meters long. After years of continuous work, the archaeologists managed to enter the tunnel and cross it.
