A case study in making museum handling objects using photogrammetry

Demonstration

Kenna Hernly, University of Maryland, College Park, USA

This lightning talk shows an example of a project that used photogrammetry to create 3D models of objects from a house museum collection. The project was undertaken by two Ph.D. students at the University of Maryland in partnership with Riversdale House Museum, MD. The talk explores the process undertaken and the challenges encountered. It also shows how the printed objects were used in the museum’s education programs. The talk aims at showing an example of a low-budget photogrammetry project that may be useful to others interested in creating their own handling objects.
