Professional Forum: Connecting the Dots - Collaborating for Physical-Digital Exhibit Design

Exhibits have always been a prime opportunity for visitor interactivity. But the need for physical-digital experiences in the museum has never been more urgent. Visitors now have connected digital experiences as part of their every day life; their expectations from museum exhibitions are consequently higher than they've ever been.
However, the best of these physical-digital museum experiences – simple, intuitive, and compelling – don’t always evolve as easily as traditional exhibits. Hierarchies are challenging to deconstruct. Traditional exhibit processes need to be reconsidered and, in parts, replaced.
This forum explores different kinds of physical-digital experiences, and outlines some practical and preliminary best practices.
